A Shiite uprising broke out in Iraq

The representative office of the As-Sadra is located in the eastern district of the Iraqi capital of Sadr City, named in memory of Ayatolla Muhammad al-Sadre, the father of Muktada, killed at the end of 1998 in Baghdad. His building is protected by a large group of improper supporters of the Shiite leader.

On Sunday, supporters of the As-Sadra organized demonstrations in several Iraqi cities, which led to clashes with coalition troops and numerous victims. In the city of Nezhef, according to updated data, more than 20 people were killed and another 200 were injured. Four military personnel from the Salvador contingent were killed.

In El-Kof, where Muktada al-Sadr is now located, the armed formations of the Mahdi Army subordinate to him were seized by all police sites. In El Amar, in a clash with the coalition troops, one person died, five more were injured.

At the same time, reports of the explosion of a car stuffed with explosives came from the city of Kirkuk in the north of Iraq. According to AFP, at this time the city was combed by American sodat. According to the Iraqi police colonel, three people were injured. He stated that the goal of the explosion was an American patrol. According to Reuters, mass performances in support of the muktada al-Sadra were also held in this city.
