
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili signed an order of national reconciliation with supporters of the first President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia.
On the basis of this document, a group of zviadists out of 14 people handed over to the Minister of Internal Affairs Georgy Baramidze small arms and in return received hoes as a sign of returning to peaceful life.
According to RIA Novosti at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the meeting of Baramidze with supporters of Gamsakhurdia occurred on Sunday in the town of Skuri in Western Georgia, where the "Zviadists" were hidden in the forests for the past 12 years.
According to the source, according to the document signed by Saakashvili, criminal cases instituted against the "Zviadists" as participants in the Civil War of 1991-1992 were terminated.
The Ministry of the Interior notes that in the forests of Western Georgia several dozen supporters of Gamsakhurdia remain. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is negotiating with them.
