"The Cat"

Sally and her brother Conrad are sitting at home with their nanny on a rainy evening. The nanny quickly falls asleep, and the children have no choice but to dream. But soon a huge cat (Mike Myers) wearing a striped hat appears in their room. And the adventure begins. The film was directed by Bo Welch and based on the book by Dr. Seuss. And although critics did not respond enthusiastically to the film, the performance of Michael Myers, who never got rid of his Austin Power ways, gives the film some charm. Let us note in parentheses that the dialogues in “The Cat” are replete with profanity and vulgar jokes.

Many years ago, on Christmas Eve, an orphan kid hid in Santa Claus's sack and accidentally went with him to the North Pole, where he became the adopted son of a real elf. However, it soon became clear that Buddy (Will Farrell) would never be able to become one of the elves, if only because he quickly outgrew his adoptive parents. Determined to find his real family, Buddy goes to New York. He not only finds parents, but also makes everyone remember what Christmas is and believe that miracles sometimes really happen.
