About one and a half thousand people gathered on Great Saturday evening in the Moscow Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the festive Easter service, which is headed by the head of the Russian Catholics Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusevich .
According to the correspondent of the Interfax agency, before starting the service in the courtyard of the temple, by tradition, a fire was bred from last year's branches consecrated on Palm Sunday . From this flame, which symbolizes the light of Christ, Archbishop T. Kondrusevich, and behind him the parishioners, lit candles and, after a brief prayer, went to the cathedral.
Prior to this, large tables were installed in the temple, on which believers put out the Easter cakes, Easter, eggs, sweets and wine brought from the house, so that, as is customary, according to the Orthodox tradition, to sanctify them.
The service will continue for about three hours and end with a procession, during which the archbishop will announce the resurrection of Christ.
As you know, this year Easter is celebrated on one day by all Christian faiths - Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants, English, Armenians.
