70% of Russians know about the Holy Trinity festival

On May 30, Orthodox Christians celebrate the festival of the Holy Trinity, established in Rus' three centuries after its baptism - under the Monk Sergius of Radonezh.

The Romir Monitoring research holding asked Russian citizens several questions related to this holiday. The study was conducted on May 13-18, 2004, 1,600 Russians were interviewed in 107 urban and rural settlements, in 46 regions of the Russian Federation.

The respondents were asked the question: "Do you know that on May 30 the Orthodox holiday of the Holy Trinity is celebrated?" 70% of respondents answered in the affirmative, while 30% replied that they did not know about it.

Women are better informed about this Orthodox holiday than men. With age, the answer “yes” is more common: if 54%give a positive answer among young people at the age of 18-24, then 84%are already answering among citizens over 60.

To the question of whether they will celebrate the Holy Trinity holiday, 54% of the respondents answered "yes", 44% - "no", 2% found it difficult to answer.

Older people, women and people with a low level of education more often answered this question. It is interesting that, regardless of the income level, the answers to this question were distributed smoothly.
