
Responsibility for a terrorist attack in the suburbs of El Hubar in the east of Saudi Arabia took upon itself al-Qaeda. This is stated on the website of the groups, RIA Novosti reports.
Unknown people shot six foreigners there on Saturday. This was announced by the Emirate satellite television channel Al-Arabia.
As a result of the attack of a group of militants of a group dressed in military uniforms, six foreigners were killed on the bus of the Petroleum Center oil company, including the Philippine, American and the Egyptian boy.
It is also reported that extremists took hostages in one of the local oil companies. Among the captured are five citizens of Lebanon. Five of the attackers were shot dead during the persecution of Saudi security forces.
The incident occurred in the town of Ar-Raka, a suburbs of the port city of El Hubar. According to eyewitnesses, unknown people opened fire from automatic weapons to the company's employees, after which they disappeared from the scene by the car.
According to Al-Arabia, six foreigners died as a result of the attack, two Saudi police officers guarding the company's office were injured.
El Hubar is one of the three largest Saudi ports in the Persian Gulf, through which oil is exported. In El Hubar and its suburbs are offices of large oil companies.
In the city, Americans, British, French, New Zealanders work in the city. There are Russian specialists. Eight Russian experts from Lukoil and Stroytransgaz were not injured in El Hubar. Having gathered in one of the hotels, they wait for a tense atmosphere in the city, the individual areas of which are blocked by troops.
