| Seven people died and 12 were injured as a result of a fire that broke out on Monday night in house No. 3, cor. 2 on Sayanskaya Street in Moscow. The fire signal was received by the capital's fire service at 3.10. The caller reported that an apartment on the sixth floor of a 9-story residential building was on fire. The firefighters got to the spot quickly, but were unable to get close to the house right away - all the entrances to the house and its yard were filled with private cars, which greatly hampered the movement of bulky fire trucks. While the combat crews were trying to squeeze their vehicles into the house, a reconnaissance group immediately entered the burning entrance. By the time they arrived, the fire had already spread from the apartment on fire to the neighboring one. Right in front of the house, rescuers found the bodies of two men. As it turned out later, they jumped from the balcony to escape the fire. In the burning apartment itself, after breaking the door, firefighters in the hallway found the badly burned body of a child, whose identity is now being established. On the floor above, in a two-room apartment, firefighters found a woman and a girl unconscious with poisoning from combustion products and burns to the upper respiratory tract. Both were immediately sent to the hospital. In the apartment on the eighth floor, firefighters found three more bodies - two women, 37 and 68 years old, and a 12-year-old boy. All of them were suffocated by smoke rising from the 6th floor. On the ninth floor, firefighters found and rescued two more women, who were urgently hospitalized. The fire was extinguished by four in the morning. The preliminary cause of the fire is careless handling of fire. It is believed that the fire started in an apartment on the sixth floor, where two men who jumped from the balcony were drinking alcohol. Alexander AVDOSHIN
Forgery for the sake of a child
The military court of the Novosibirsk garrison yesterday sentenced the 29-year-old head of the financial service of military unit 5427 of the Siberian Internal Troops District, Major Sergei Zakharov. The chief of finance, with the help of forgery of documents, embezzled 87 thousand rubles from the cash register, intended to pay compensation and “combat” to his comrades. During last year's audit of the unit, inspectors were struck by discrepancies between the signatures of military personnel on the pay slips and the originals stored in the unit. Suspicion immediately fell on the head of the financial service. Having checked all his documentation, the commission identified about one and a half dozen forgeries totaling 87 thousand rubles. As Sergei Zakharov said at the trial, his family experienced a catastrophic lack of money. Last year, Zakharov’s wife found herself “in a position.” The pregnancy proceeded with complications, the woman required consultations with paid doctors and medications. Meanwhile, the major’s salary did not exceed 6 thousand rubles. Under the threat of losing his child, Zakharov decided to embezzle money from the subordinate treasury. The chief of finance signed for the contract soldiers in the statements, and appropriated their money - payments for participation in the operation in the Caucasus, travel allowances, compensation for uniforms. In total, 15 people were affected by the activities of the chief of finance. When the situation became clear, the unit commander dismissed the chief of finance and appealed to the tribunal. At the trial, Zakharov admitted his guilt. The court did not deprive the chief of finance of his freedom, but sentenced him to a fine of 30 thousand rubles. provided it is paid within a year. The court also satisfied the civil claim against Zakharov on the part of his part in the amount of 79 thousand rubles. Zakharov was deprived of the right to hold positions related to financial management for a year. Dmitry VINOGRADOV, Novosibirsk
The fate of an anti-Semite
The prosecutor's office of the Central District of Novosibirsk yesterday transferred to court the criminal case of the leader of the local branch of the National Power Party, editor of the newspaper "Russian Siberia" and member of the All-Slavic Union of Journalists Igor Kolodezenko. He is charged under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - “inciting national, racial or religious hatred.” At the same time, Kolodezenko already has one conviction under this article. District prosecutor Yuri Kondratyev said that Igor Kolodezenko was convicted for the first time a year ago - he was sentenced to two years in prison, but was released under an amnesty. Kolodezenko was convicted for a number of critical publications, including those addressed to the regional governor Viktor Tolokonsky, whom Russian Siberia accused of belonging to a worldwide Jewish-Masonic conspiracy. Also in 2001, Kolodezenko published the brochure “Anti-Zionism in Russia.” After the publication of this book, the Kemerovo Society of Jewish Culture sent a photocopy of the book and an open letter to Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov, Plenipotentiary Representative in the Siberian District Leonid Drachevsky and the Novosibirsk Regional Prosecutor's Office. In 2003, the Ministry of Press deprived “Russian Siberia” of registration, and the activities of the branch of the National Power Party were declared illegal. However, Mr. Kolodezenko re-registered the newspaper and calmly continued his “educational activities.” Even during the first trial, on March 15, 2003, representatives of the NDPR held a picket “using slogans of an extremist nature” near the building of the Novosibirsk Jewish community “Yatad.” At a rally on May 1, 2003, Kolodezenko came out in front of the festive podium with a banner “Down with the Jewish-fascist dictatorship.” Last December, the prosecutor's office again opened a case against Kolodezenko. This time, according to Mr. Kondratyev, taking into account his existing criminal record, the prosecutor's office hopes for a more severe punishment - Kolodezenko will receive up to 500 thousand rubles. fine or five years in prison. However, Kolodezenko himself stated that it would not be possible to break him - he was ready to fight against Zionism in prison. Dmitry VINOGRADOV, Novosibirsk
