Having visited the play “Alexander Vertinsky. Yellow Tango”, the viewer each time takes with him to our iron modernity a feeling of genuine “silver” beauty in its fragility.
Played and staged by actor Sergei Fedotov. And it all started with an invitation to perform in Budapest in front of the Russian emigration with a concert composed of Vertinsky's songs.
Episodes from the life of the great Russian chansonnier are small scenes played out by the artist easily and gracefully. Before our eyes, from the "litter" of the words and tunes of a dream, life is born - Pierrot's arietta sounds. Sometimes sad, sometimes cheerful, but always slightly ironic and sad, she touches, makes you rejoice and grieve with her.
Sergei Fedotov does not try to copy the manner of performing Vertinsky's songs, he sometimes hints at it with a slightly grooving "r". In his performance there is "its own note" - what Vertinsky so valued, what made and makes all attempts to "repeat" him fail - the sincerity of the experience, and hence the feeling of the uniqueness of each stage moment.
The performance is chamber and at the same time festive.
Masterfully mastering the art of reincarnation, S. Fedotov knows how to convey the character of a person by few means.
The light score played out “according to notes” completes the impression.
PS The performance will take place on June 25 at 7 pm at the GITIS Theater (B. Gnezdnikovsky per., 10). Inquiries by tel. 229-70-87, 365-02-62.
