Victor Cheretsky , Madrid: The Spanish government dismissed all the highest leadership of the country's armed forces. The reason is the incessant scandal around the death of 62 troops in the plane crash of the Ukrainian airline Yak -42. The tragedy occurred in May last year, when the Spanish military returned from Afghanistan. In Turkey, a captured Ukrainian plane, he could not land for refueling and crashed into a mountain massif. In addition to the Spaniards, 14 citizens of Ukraine were killed, crew members. The remains of the military were sent to Spain for burial. Meanwhile, there were rumors that the bodies brought in closed coffins are confused. A month ago, relatives achieved an additional examination, in particular, DNA analysis. They were supported by the new Minister of Defense Jose Bono. The analysis showed that more than half of the bodies are really confused, that is, families received the remains of strangers.
Meanwhile, all the circumstances of the disaster have not been clarified to the end. The official version is the pilot’s error, unofficial - airliner malfunction. It is also known that the military repeatedly warned their authorities about the poor technical condition of Ukrainian aircraft on which they were delivered to Afghanistan. The authorities did not react. Relatives of the victims suspect that the military department used these aircraft in order to save money, since the services of Ukrainians were cheaper than the services of other airlines.
In any case, people want to know the truth. Says Ana Ochoa, the widow of one of the dead troops:
ANOOA: We demand that a special parliamentary commission be formed. The now -ruling socialist party, still in the opposition and during the election campaign, promised us to create a commission. And now, it seems, she does not have a sufficient incentive for this
Victor Cheretsky: Meanwhile, the dismissal of three generals, the highest leaders of the Armed Forces, nevertheless indicates that the Spanish authorities intend to fully deal with the story around the death of the military.
