The portrait of Alexander Lukashenko was rejected for anti -artistic

On June 30, an exhibition of modern Belarusian art dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders will open in the Minsk Palace of Art.

On Tuesday, on the eve of the opening, the Art Council, led by the People's Artist of Belarus, Viktor Gromyko, took the works proposed by artists - professionals and amateurs. The selection criterion was one - the artistic level of works, says the Belarusian Radio Liberty Service . Nevertheless, it was not without a scandal.

According to Viktor Gromyko, work performed at an extremely low level were rejected. There were no obstacles to even those who do not have a special education, but tried to withstand a certain level of the School council. Alexander Potiko, who was firmly offended by the decision of the Hud Council, according to Viktor Gromyko, has long moved away from fine art, reports the Belarusian Business Gazeta .

For many years, Alexander Potiko has been engaged in the manufacture and repair of musical instruments and brushes in his hands, it seems, he did not hold for a long time. And the picture was rejected not because it depicts Lukashenko, but because of its low artistic level. Putiko warned the members of the artistic council: you will not accept the picture - I will reach the president. Nevertheless, there was no dispute in the artsitist on his occasion.

The picturesque Lukashenko in the picture of a tractica appears in the military uniform of the commander in chief. The author does not deny that the prototype did not pose to him, but a portrait from widely known photographs was written.

Victor Gromyko would not remember that other artists put up a portrait of Lukashenko, but his colleagues told Radio Liberty to the Radio, which they were still made for sale.

So far, none of the most famous, serious artists wrote a portrait of the president, and several conjunctural attempts ended in failure. But it can be noted that significantly more cartoons, cartoons and satirical installations were created.
