The average age of soldiers and officers from 20 to 30 years depicted in photographs, among them are three girls aged 18, 22, 25 years. One of the girls - a pretty black woman, the ordinary Leslie Jackson died on May 21, 2004, when the car that she drove was blown up on a mine.

In total, according to the newspaper, 860 American military personnel were killed in Iraq during a military operation.

The action of the "faces of the dead", begun by The Washington Post, which critically refers to the war in Iraq, made a painful impression on many Americans, RIA Novosti reports.
