Abu Graib prison is fired from a grenade launcher

The Abu Graib prison near Baghdad is fired from a grenade launcher, AFP reports citing the American command.

According to him, during the shelling, one foreigner was wounded - a civilian who performs an order in the prison. His nationality is not specified.

The Abu Graib prison gained sad fame after it became known about the inhuman attitude of American warders to the prisoners languishing there, RIA Novosti notes.

Also on Monday in the Iraqi city of Mosul in the north of the country, an American soldier died, reports Arab radio Sawa. He died as a result of an attack by armed militants on an American patrol.

The response fire of American soldiers was one of the attackers.
