
About one and a half tons of cocaine was confiscated on Sunday as a result of a special operation of Colombian law enforcement agencies. A large batch of drugs was discovered on the island of Santa Catalin in the Caribbean, which belongs to Colombia. During the operation, two people were detained.
The police also confiscated three high -speed boats, on which criminals, allegedly, transported drugs to one of the countries of Central America for subsequent transfer to the United States. In the Black Market in the United States, the cost of such a batch of drugs is more than $ 40 million, ITAR-TASS reports.
Colombia is the main world center of illegal production of cocaine. According to some estimates, about 600 tons of this drug are illegally exported to the United States and Europe annually from here.
