The head coach of the Russian youth team in football Andrei Chernyshov positively responded about the possible invitation of Oleg Romantsev to lead the German national team. "It's nice when our specialist is interested in abroad, especially such a football power as Germany. We are belittling an opinion about our own capabilities, the case of Romantsev proves this," Chernoshov said in an interview with RIA Novosti, commenting on publications in German media.

The coach of the Russian youth team said that the path from a note in the newspaper to signing the contract is very thorny and long: "In order to draw up a contract, it is necessary to overcome many factors."

At the same time, Chernyshov expressed the opinion that, most likely, a German will be a new mentor of the German national team. “The Germans are in their nature in a good way,” said the specialist. “There is an opinion among them that if a foreigner heads the national team, then the country is in decline. German football is not in this state, and I think that preference will eventually be given to the local coach.”

In the German press, information appeared that among the candidates for the post of head coach of the national team, Oleg Romantsev also appears, who at one time headed the Russian team. However, according to the latest data, German sports media do not mention Oleg Romantsev’s names among the possible candidates for the post of head coach of the German national team. At the same time, some of them confirm the information that the German Football Union is seriously considering the option of inviting a foreign specialist.

So, the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper cites the words of Franz Beckenbauer, who is a member of the Committee for the search for a new mentor of the German team. “We are inclined in favor of a foreigner,” the famous football player said in the past.
