On the evening of July 25, environmentalist Dmitry Ostrovsky was beaten during the Big Tandem tennis tournament in Perm. He was beaten by a private security guard of one of the high-ranking participants in the competition.
The tournament, during which representatives of the highest Perm political and business circles meet on the court, was held on tennis courts near the Zvezda stadium. About a dozen participants of the Perm-2004 protest camp against the burning of missiles came to the tournament to draw attention to their activities. Sitting in the stands, environmental radicals raised banners and began to chant "Deputies are playing - Permians are dying!".
After some time, the security removed the protesters from the stands, only Dmitry Ostrovsky managed to stay. Having waited for the moment of awarding the winners, he changed into a costume and a mask of Death and went out onto the court, thanking the "owners of Perm" for providing her, Death, with a "dioxin harvest."
After that, a security officer of one of the VIP participants of the tournament took Ostrovsky out of the public eye, knocked him down and began to beat him with his fists and kicks, tore off his glasses and crushed him. Later, the victim was handed over to the policemen of the Sverdlovsk Department of Internal Affairs of Perm, who took him to the emergency room. Doctors discovered that Ostrovsky had extensive chest bruises.
Employees of the Sverdlovsk police department and the administration of the Green Duck entertainment complex, which owns tennis courts, have so far refused to name the man who beat Ostrovsky. The police refer to their lack of information, the administration of the sports complex - to the confidentiality of this information.
