During the opposition rally on July 21 - the day of the tenth anniversary of Lukashenka's presidency - after the program "Vesti", which gave a manifestation of the first news, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Naumov made an emergency statement. The action continued, but the minister had already announced that the Rossiya channel had grossly misrepresented the number of participants. Correspondent Dmitry Petrov, by the way, was very cautious about the count and said on the air that "from 2 to 5 thousand people" participated in the rally. This figure was announced an hour later by NTV and Western news agencies. Observers were talking about 4 thousand.

The next day, stern policemen demanded an apology from the correspondent. But Petrov refused. He was not permanently accredited in Belarus, but was sent on a business trip, with a road trip for state needs for a couple of days. Petrov completed the task and calmly left. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry followed up with a statement: we did not deprive the journalist of his accreditation, but allowed him to leave. Between the lines it reads like this: let him say thank you for letting him go... And the second statement: “Due to the repeated biased coverage of the events taking place in Belarus and incorrect coverage of the unauthorized opposition rally that took place on July 21 in Minsk, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry postponed consideration of the application of the Russian TV and radio company to extend the validity of the certificate of opening a representative office in Minsk. And, finally, the third: about the deprivation of the RTR TV channel of accreditation in Belarus.

The question is, why did Alexander Lukashenko declare RTR to be his number one enemy? Firstly, because RTR is state television. And Alexander Grigorych sees the Kremlin conspiracy against him everywhere, even in a leaking toilet bowl. And secondly, because the broadcasting of other Russian TV channels on the territory of Belarus has long been controlled.

ORT is partially blocked by the second Belarusian channel. Kultura stopped broadcasting in Belarus last year. NTV is accepted only in some Belarusian cities, and in rural areas they do not even know what kind of animal it is. The only Russian TV channel that kept virginity in Belarus was Rossiya. Until July 21st.
