In the spire of the Church, messages were found to descendants dated the 18th and 20th centuries

During the construction work in the spire of one of the Evangelical Lutheran churches of Tukums, three messages addressed to the descendants were discovered at once. According to experts, one of the letters is dated to the 18th century, and the other two - last century. The letters were open and solemnly read out in the presence of employees of the Tukum Museum and city self -government.

According to the rector of the Kandavsky parish, Marcis Zeiphart, the first letter was written in 1754 in German. To the surprise of experts, the scroll is quite well preserved. True, it was impossible to read the ancient message, since it requires decryption, the Blagovest-info reports.

In the near future, the parish of the Tukuma Evangelical Lutheran Church will decide the issue of transferring letters to the city museum for restoration. Most likely, the original will remain in the museum, and a copy will be placed again in a spire.

The next message, dated 1923, talks about repairs in the church that was carried out. As it turned out, 316 thousand Latvian rubles took to restore Kirchi at the beginning of the last century. In addition, the letter indicates the names of restorers, cashier and priest. Even a concert program was attached to the letter, which reflects celebrations on the occasion of the consecration of the church after repair.

Finally, the third message was written in 1960. According to Marcis Zeiphart, it states that the church roof safely survived the Second World War, although it was a little damaged in 1944 and 1945. In the messages, ancient coins were also found.

The leadership of the parish and the Tukum Duma also decided to leave his message to the next generation in the church’s spire, in which gratitude was expressed for the preserved property and heritage. The letter also described new facts from the life of the church, and also added prayers for the arrival and Tukums.
