In Russia, Olympians are waiting for doping analysis

Russian sports officials will conduct investigations for each case of using domestic doping athletes. This will be done after the Russian team returns to his homeland after the Olympics. Recall that during the games, the Russians recorded three cases of doping.

This was stated by the head of the Federal Agency for Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Vyacheslav Fetisov. “We pay great attention to the topic of doping. It is necessary to make out every case of using doping by our athletes,” Fetisov said. “Our anti -doping laboratory is informed about what is happening in the World Anti -Doping Agency. In Moscow we will collect all interested parties and conduct our investigation.”

To date, at 2004 games, Russians recorded three positive doping tests, RIA Novosti recalls. First, the adherent of the rifle Albina Khomich was removed from the competition, then the nucleus pusher Irina Korzhanenko lost a gold medal, and recently doping was found at the runner Anton Galkin. Moreover, Korzhanenko and Galkin in the samples found the same drug - Stanozolol.

In addition, Fetisov noted, it is planned to disassemble the incident with the Russian gymnast Alexei Nemov, to whom the judges put undeservedly low grades in exercises on the crossbar. The head of Russian sports said that it was necessary to figure out whether the appeal was filed on time for the results of the competition or not, and as far as possible to influence this situation.

Speaking of Nemov itself, Fetisov noted that this is a real athlete. Also, the head of the Federal Agency for Physical Education, Sports and Tourism thanked Nemov and other veterans of Russian sports - Alexander Popov, Svetlana Khorkin, Alexander Moskalenko. “They should be an example for the young,” Fetisov emphasized. “They need to be encouraged and talked about them.”
