| The bloodiest terrorist attack in Russian history In Beslan yesterday, until the evening, the counting of victims of the tragic outcome of the hostage-taking drama at city school No. 1 continued. One thing is clear: there has never been a terrorist attack with such terrible consequences in Russia.
Martyrology
During the day, the death toll increased almost hourly: in the morning they talked about 320 dead, by the evening it was already about 353. Moreover, no one dared to say when this terrible calculation would be completed. Firstly, different government representatives - from the operational headquarters, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia, the government of the republic, the mayor's office of Beslan itself - cited different data from each other. Secondly, until Sunday evening, Beslan’s morgues and hospitals continued to be besieged by relatives of those who were in the school building on September 1, but whose names were not on the lists of the dead or the lists of the wounded. According to preliminary data, about 160 such missing persons remained yesterday.
Of those killed yesterday, only half were identified - about 180 people. In addition, there was no accurate information about several dozen victims - seriously wounded and children in a state of severe shock; in the confusion of the first hours after the tragic outcome, they were taken to different hospitals without any registration. However, even at the same time, doctors and rescuers who visited the school building on Friday evening did not trust any “accurate” figures yesterday. Many of them, judging by the nightmare they saw, did not rule out that the final figures for those killed in school No. 1 could exceed 400 or even 500 people.
Yesterday the North Ossetian authorities spoke more definitely about the victims - in total, after the tragedy, 850 people passed through the hands of doctors, of whom 435 remained in hospitals yesterday. Although these figures were considered preliminary and require clarification. However, it is obvious that the final official data on this matter will have any fundamental significance only for investigators and social security authorities. Over the past three days, the small town of Beslan, the existence of which the majority of the population in Russia did not know, has entered modern world history as the most terrible and inhumane symbol of terror.
In Beslan itself, what happened is measured on a different scale. Apart from representatives of the operational headquarters and the immediate leaders of the republic (and then only when communicating with journalists), no one in the city talks about the number of dead and wounded, or about the significance of the latest events for the country and, especially, the world community. The entire population of Beslan is just over 30 thousand people, and according to Caucasian custom, in one way or another, absolutely everyone here knows each other or at least can find mutual acquaintances and relatives. This means that everyone has someone close to them who was at school No. 1 on September 1st.
“They will say that the Eskimos did it”
Both on Saturday and Sunday it was impossible to walk along the streets of Beslan, even from afar bypassing the hospital, morgue and city hall, where relatives of the yet unidentified victims of the tragedy are on duty, without hearing human sobs. Sometimes - when crying is heard from several sides at once - it seems that the whole city is crying. There are almost no cars driving throughout the city due to patrols stationed on almost every corner. The policemen and military men on duty on the streets are gloomy and unfriendly, checking documents, carefully reading every line, meticulously studying photographs of those being checked. Half of the shops, cafes and other public institutions are closed, and those whose doors are still open are actually not working. The counters are empty, the employees are gloomily silent or talking to each other in low voices.
Although, if suddenly there is a conversation with strangers, people do not hide their emotions and their views on what happened and do not even betray traditional Caucasian hospitality. A Vremya Novostey correspondent accidentally got into a conversation with Alan, an approximately 40-year-old resident of Beslan, on the street near the city market, asking where he could find at least some operating catering establishment nearby. Instead of answering, Alan immediately invited me to have dinner at his home, setting only the condition not to give his last name and place of work: “My neighbor died there. He worked as a military commander at this school, his name was Alexander Mikhailov. And his daughter was a primary school teacher there; she was wounded in the leg and underwent surgery. She’s still alive, thank God. You know, I'm sure who did it. And I’m also sure that they won’t say this, they will say that they are Arabs, Chinese, even Eskimos. Why? But do you remember the explosion at the market in Vladikavkaz? They found out then that they were Ingush, caught them, and they were in prison. But people were told that the Ossetians did it themselves - do you know why? To prevent interethnic strife - as if it would arise from this. The only way to live in peace with them is to not meet them at all. And there is no one to stand up for us. Although now, probably, many will understand what needs to be done, but the tears will dry up.”
“Agree on small coffins. We need a lot of them"
A Vremya Novostey correspondent found Deputy Mayor of Beslan Georgy Gagatsev on Saturday afternoon rushing about near the city administration building, into which some military men stubbornly refused to let him in: “I don’t even have the keys to my office. It’s clear that Shoigu and the FSB are there now.” After half an hour of negotiations with the police and military, the vice mayor finally made it to his workplace. But as soon as he sat down at the table, he again did not have to communicate with journalists. A man in a jacket ran into the office: “Finish writing papers, I have something to do with you.” Here we need to organize coffins. As much as possible. Just make sure that they are all of the same quality, otherwise our relatives will eat us alive. And one more thing: if possible, agree on small coffins, you know? You also need a lot of them, as many as you can, in general.”
How can you fight with children?
In Beslan school No. 6, located on the other side of the city from the scene of the tragedy, the headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Tsentrospas are located. No one there dared to answer the question about the number of deaths on Saturday; all the employees only averted their eyes. Only one of the employees of the local Civil Defense and Emergency Situations spoke, having difficulty finding the words: “You see, just today I saw about one hundred and fifty bodies. There are a lot of them there, and you can’t identify them all - some are charred, some are just in pieces... Some recognize their relatives and take them home right away, so you can’t calculate the exact number right away. I can’t understand anything else - how can you fight with children? Man can fight with man, but what have children to do with it?”
When asked who exactly, in his opinion, seized the school, he answers without hesitation: “What do you think? Well, use logic, think a little. Well, Ruslan Aushev came to them - and twenty-six people were released. For whom is Aushev an authority? For Chechens or Arab mercenaries? I’ll simply tell you: some handful of subhumans fucked everyone, you know? First us, Ossetians, and after us - the whole world. It’s a shame and it’s unclear how to live with this, how to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Children are dying, two people from Tsentrospas died, one of us, a fire inspector, whom I knew well - who needs this? Who benefited from these deaths? And in general, they set up a triple cordon around the school, but who was included in it? Conscript soldiers, boys 18 years old? When the militants poured out of the school, some of them could not stand it and began to run away; the special forces were completely unprepared. It is unclear who to blame, as always. And it’s also a shame - how everyone is afraid of them! Here one old man walked and cried, one of his sons was killed in 1991, another in 1992, only his grandchildren remained. So he said that when they show photographs of militants so that residents, if anyone knew them, would identify them, no one would admit it. Because it’s scary for the family, they’ll cut it out.”
“He has a Muslim rosary on his hand, and an Orthodox cross is attached to it.”
Soon a group of rescuers arrives, clearing away the rubble in the gym since the morning. Almost no one talks - they briefly and dryly report that they cleared most of the floor, groans seemed to be heard from the basement, but no one was found there. One of the fighters, puffing on a cigarette, says: “We found these fugitives in disguise. Everyone. So, except for the three detainees, there are no more alive - that’s what the military says. And the locals themselves beat one to death.” When asked how local residents figured out that this particular person was a militant, the fighter explains: “You understand, for you all Caucasians look the same. Mix one Chechen or Ingush into a hundred Ossetians - I will instantly see him among the others. And here, in general, everything was visible - he even cut his beard crookedly with scissors, he was in a hurry, apparently, he hid under a car, people were dragging him out of there, and on his hand he had a Muslim rosary, and an Orthodox cross was attached to it. Nothing, we found out.”
“I pulled some kind of plywood over myself and began to pray to Christ to save me.”
Fatima ALIKOVA, 27 years old, photojournalist for the regional newspaper “Life of the Right Bank”, who was in school No. 1 in the city of Beslan seized by terrorists:
— I went there to film a report about September 1st. When it all started, I didn’t even understand what it was - some people started screaming and shooting in the air. I got scared and ran to the second floor, hid in some room without windows, but they found me there and forced me to go down to the first floor, to the gym. Everyone who was there was searched, first of all they looked for mobile phones. They said that the one who hid the mobile phone would be killed, and another 20 people sitting nearby would be killed. The men were taken to a nearby room and beaten, some were shot.
We were sat on the floor, there was little space, we couldn’t breathe. Then, however, the windows upstairs were broken, and things became a little easier. Water was given only on the first day and only to children, two or three sips, but for us they splashed it on our faces and made sure we didn’t drink it. Those who asked for a drink were told that the water was poisoned, then they brought empty one and a half liter bottles. At first we were delighted, but then they said that this was for small children so that they would not have to go to the toilet often. And then they say, if you want to drink, drink your urine, many did so. I wanted to drink all the time, but I didn’t want to eat at all.
What I remember most is the hum. You see, almost no one spoke, it was the mothers of their children fanning themselves with paper from the heat, many were simply in some kind of stupor. I was also surprised that the children hardly cried, although some began to hallucinate from the heat and foamed at the mouth. One boy kept reassuring me - don’t be afraid, he says, they will save us - and he himself is eleven years old. When they came to us for negotiations, no one was allowed to see us; they talked behind a large safe, like behind a screen. We realized then that someone had come to us only because they had prepared a camera for filming. They filmed us sometimes, but not often. They said that Dzasokhov and everyone in general had spat on us, that they were saying on the radio that there were only 350 of us here, and no one would come to our aid. And when they got tired of the noise, they told us to shut up and pray to Allah. And one veteran, Zaurbek Gutiev, was forced to wear a jacket with awards for the war inside out, they hit him, and he is already 82 years old.
There, in the gym, real garlands of mines hung from the ceiling, and in the hall there were about 10-15 of them, each the size of a brick. We couldn’t look at them, it was so scary. As for the explosion, I won’t say exactly why it happened - there was some noise, and then immediately there was an explosion. One thing I can say: the assault did not begin before the explosion.
I was lying on the windowsill, and a blast wave threw me out of the window into the yard; at first I didn’t even understand what happened. While I was sitting there, I thought many times: if I suddenly find myself on the street, I will definitely run. If only you have the strength. As soon as I remembered this, the strength immediately appeared, I jumped up and ran. I was probably lucky that I fell towards the garages, and not from the side where the assault began. I don’t even remember whether they shot after me or not, I just ran towards the garages and fell between them. And then the shooting began, and explosions also began in the garages. I pulled some kind of plywood over myself so that I could not be seen, and began to pray to Christ to save me.
She lay there for about 30 minutes, probably, and then, when it calmed down a little, she jumped up and ran to the wall between the garages - there was some piece of iron covering a hole there - and shouted “Help!” I pushed it aside and saw many men, and in front of everyone was our prosecutor Alan Batagov (Beslan prosecutor. - Ed. ). He grabbed me by the arms, someone else grabbed my legs, and they ran me somewhere along the street around the corner, then they put me on a stretcher and carried me to the ambulance.
They say to me: are you injured? And I answer: give me something to drink, otherwise I’ll die. I now put a bottle of water next to my bed at night, otherwise I dream that they don’t let me drink.
They began to storm the school only 30 minutes after the first explosions
The rapid development of events around school No. 1 came as a complete surprise to absolutely everyone - the leaders of the operational headquarters, members of the group of “negotiators” that were part of it, who maintained contact with the terrorists, and special forces soldiers.
According to Vremya Novostei, by the time of the forced attack on the school, the fighters of the Alpha and Vympel groups - the main striking force of the special services in such situations - had not even distributed among themselves the "sectors" of responsibility along the perimeter of the school, terrorist firing points, calculated routes for approaching the building, moving inside, etc. All this was still under discussion in case of an assault. However, the assault at that time was not included in the immediate plans of the operational headquarters. Therefore, we had to act without an agreed upon plan, as usually happens in such cases.
“In fact, the guys started storming the building only 30 minutes after the first explosions,” a senior FSB representative told us. - Before this, there were completely different tasks. It was necessary to save the children with all possible forces.”
As soon as the hostages began to run out of the building, and the militants opened fire on them, the Alpha and Vympel fighters rushed to the gym and, as they went, looked for places where the terrorists were shooting. The special forces tried with all possible forces to suppress the bandits' firing points and at least somehow cover the fleeing hostages with their fire. At the same time, they themselves carried the wounded in their arms and thereby exposed themselves to the militants.
While one of the fighters was carrying two girls, a sniper's bullet hit him right in the neck. The actions of “Alpha” and “Vympel” were further complicated by the fact that the militants had enough time to get comfortable and choose the most convenient points for shooting. According to some reports, by the time the battle began, the terrorists also received fire support from a nearby building. Moreover, according to operatives, snipers settled there long before the explosion occurred in the gym.
“I am sure that the terrorists who seized the school had a “support group” prepared in advance,” one of the senior FSB officers told us yesterday. - Firstly, this is generally their usual tactics; they always leave a reserve in case of withdrawal. Secondly, this is clearly evidenced by the fact that some militants managed to break out of the school and were supported by fire from someone from the side.”
“Only 30 minutes after the rescue of the hostages began, the guys launched their first truly serious attack on the building,” our interlocutor continued, “and were able to get inside the school. But soon a new explosion occurred in the gym, which again killed the special forces.”
Officially, until yesterday evening, FSB representatives did not name losses among employees of the FSB Special Purpose Center (which includes the Alpha and Vympel groups). However, unofficially, Alpha employees confirmed on Saturday that the events in Beslan can already be considered the most tragic in the history of their unit. According to Vremya Novostey, three Alpha fighters and seven Vympel fighters were killed during the storming of the school building and rescuing the hostages. According to various sources, from 26 to 31 special forces soldiers were injured. In the entire history of the existence of the FSB Special Purpose Center, these are unprecedented losses. Despite this, the Alpha and Vympel fighters themselves managed to destroy 30 terrorists in the battle at school No. 1 that lasted until nine o’clock on Friday evening.
“Despite the heroism that the guys showed, there are still many questions in this whole story,” noted Vremya Novostey’s interlocutor. - It is clear that no one expected such a development of events. But still, the headquarters had to work out a certain algorithm of actions in advance in case of an unforeseen situation. This would certainly have allowed such large-scale losses to be avoided. It is also unclear why there was a cordon ring so close to the school. And in general, what kind of ring was it if militia with weapons, who only interfered with the special forces, and journalists, and just onlookers passed through it to the building. And then some of the militants again managed to get out of this ring.”
Denouement: what it looked like from the outside
Friday morning did not foreshadow such a tragic outcome. First, at about three o'clock in the morning, Doctor Leonid Roshal spoke to the relatives of the hostages in the hall of the House of Culture, saying that he was constantly in contact with terrorists. It was he, by the way, who first announced the real scale of the emergency - that in the seized school there were not 354 hostages, as the headquarters officially announced, but more than a thousand.
The President of North Ossetia, Alexander Dzasokhov, in turn, promised that there would be no assault under any circumstances, and the militants would sooner or later get tired, demand buses and be transported to any desired location. At the headquarters, it seems that at that moment they really did not even think about a military operation, counting on at least continuing negotiations for some time.
According to unofficial information, various options for the assault on the special forces unit, although they developed, but at that moment only theoretically. Moreover, in Beslan they were waiting for adviser to Russian President Aslambek Aslakhanov, with whom the terrorists agreed to meet. And the militants themselves unexpectedly made concessions-they allowed to pick up the corpses of the previously killed hostages from under the windows of the building.
For this, four employees of the Ministry of Emergencies went to the school at about 13.00. It was at this moment - when the rescuers drove in a car in the school’s courtyard - there were unexpectedly two powerful explosions inside, and the machine guns rumbled in. At first, many did not even understand what was happening, deciding that the militants were once again having fun (they periodically shot from grenade launchers and machine guns).
That the tragedy occurred, it became clear when from the school territory - from the side of the courtyard, to which the windows of the gym extend, the first children began to run out - in one underwear, all in the blood. Immediately, special forces and local residents rushed to the building, who-with hunting carbines and guns, with white bandages on their sleeves (so that they would not be confused with the militants)-from the first day they were on duty around the school. The leaders of the operation initially did not try to drive their operations, fearing even more to inflate the situation.
As a result, in the first minutes of 30 it seemed that there was complete confusion and chaos. In school-because of shelters, trees and just from the knees-people in bulletproof vests and in helmet mixed with militias shot. In response from the roof and from the windows of the second floor of the building, militants poured them with fire. All this time, hundreds of bloodied children and adults continued to run out of school to the street. Under the continuous crack of machine guns and grenades break to the school courtyard, rescuers, firefighters and just local residents who sank for the cordon immediately ran towards them, help to get distraught children from the windows, carry the wounded and withdraw those who did not understand where to escape. There was not enough stretcher, no doctors, no "ambulance."
From the moment of capture, the relatives of the hostages on duty at the school themselves mobilized all the private cars that were nearby. Having seated several wounded (so that some cars did not close the doors and trunk), the drivers swept along the surrounding streets at great speed. Those who were not difficult for the injuries, the doctors rendered help right on the street and left to sit on a stretcher. The seriously wounded rhinestones were sent to operating rooms. The released captives first rushed to the several beeters nearby near the school, where bottles of water were folded, and eagerly drank.
Meanwhile, automatic lines and explosions began to be heard not only at the school, but also in neighboring quarters. How, why - no one could understand, but several groups of militants, as it turned out, were able to break out of the shutter ring.
40 minutes after the start of the shootout in the gym, where they kept most of the hostages, there was another deafening explosion. Almost immediately over the school, thick puffs of smoke appeared, flames appeared. A fire engine immediately flashed to the building. After that, the flow of surviving and wounded hostages from the side began to thin up almost a minute.
People did not leave the city streets all this time, but on the contrary, they tried to better go to the school building to help hostages, and at the same time find among the wounded relatives. A large crowd also formed at the hospital building. Thousands of people peered into the faces of the victims, who were taken out of cars. They searched for their loved ones, asking the oncoming ones, they did not see their children.
Continuous hustle and bustle - for unnecessary sobbing, screams, signals of the cars of the cars, the howls of fire and ambulance cars - continued within a radius of a kilometer around the school until the onset of darkness. All this time, a frequent automatic finger, a roar of gaps, was distributed over the city, and the shooting was constantly thrown at different ends of the city. Who, where, why and why shot - no one knew or understood. When the sounds were heard too close, people simply scattered, hiding behind the trees and houses, moving to other streets.
Especially fierce battles went in the very building of the school and in a nearby five -story residential building. On them, even a few volleys made tanks. Basically, the FSB special forces were shot with terrorists, while the militias checked the yards and looked for suspicious people on the streets. A foreign journalist, accepted by local inhabitants for the militant, fell under a hot hand. Only police officers were able to recapture it. Either subside, then flaring up, intensive shooting continued in Beslan until 17.30, while the last shots subsided only by five in the morning.
The first official explanations of what was happening at the school from the leaders of the operational headquarters to liberate hostages only at about 17.00. In several short speeches, the head of the UFSB of North Ossetia noted that the shooting began unexpectedly and spontaneously and on the initiative of the militants: "We did not plan any power actions. We assumed further negotiations on the peaceful release of hostages."
At about seven o'clock in the evening, Mr. Andreev announced that 400 hostages were saved from the school building, 20 militants were destroyed, nine of which Arabs and one African. “Unfortunately, there are victims among the hostages. So far, 60 people are identified among them. The battle continues in the school area with the bandits remaining there, who continue to hold part of the hostages. Among the employees of special forces there are victims, ”Mr. Andreev summed up the state of affairs at that time.
At about eight in the evening, the presidential adviser Aslambek Aslakhanov announced that the number of victims of the tragedy at school No. 1 may be “more than 150”.
Bloody International
From where the group of militants came from and came to Beslan, and in general how many of them were, it is still reliably not known. However, according to the "News Time", the starting point of this raid for terrorists could be the Malgobek district of Ingushetia, bordering the northern Ossetia and Chechnya.
At least yesterday in local villages, police officers held large -scale events under the leadership of one of the deputy Minister of the Interior of Ingushetia. True, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic itself, we were assured that these were "ordinary, planned preventive measures to verify the passport regime."
According to preliminary data, terrorists moved on two GAZ-66 trucks with awning-one had weapons and explosives, in the other the militants themselves. For the first time, their appearance was noted about eight in the morning on September 1 - an hour before the attack on the school - between Malgobec and the village of Khurikau of the Mozdok district of North Ossetia, near the border of the two republics. There, the bandits stopped the car of the precinct Ruslan Gurazhev and, taking away weapons and documents from him, threw a truck into the body.
First of all, the militants were interested in the service certificate of the district police officer, which would help them if the traffic police are checked. In Khurikau itself, the terrorists removed Ossetian numbers from the Muscovites who came across on the road and rearranged on their car. Further, the trucks moved directly to the Beslan school.
According to our data, the militants got all their weapons from the second GAZ-66, which after that left. According to other information, the bulk of the arsenal was hidden in the basement of the school in advance - when the militants under the guise of workers were repaired there this summer. It is noteworthy, the district police officer at the time of the attack on the school managed to escape. He himself says that this is a pure accident, but the special services have already detained him on suspicion of aiding terrorists.
The bandits drove most of the hostages to the gym, on the basketball baskets of which two powerful bombs were fixed, connected by a special cable, on which a number of smaller explosive devices hung. All of them were connected to each other, and the control panel was on the floor. At the remote control, replacing each other, one of the militants was on duty.
Women with young children were put in the dining room. First of all, the terrorists decided to get rid of all men who, as they suspected, could give resistance to the militants. As a result, on September 1 and 2, terrorists took 20 people to one of the offices on the second floor, who were shot and the bodies were thrown out the window.
Already on September 1, according to the "News Time", the first serious emergency occurred at the school. Two shahids went into the dining room, where they administered some drugs. After that, they went to the gym, and then a bomb worked on one of the suicide bombs. “Fortunately, it was far from all the hostages, and the bomb was quite compact, so no one except the terrorist herself died then,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia said.
What happened in the gym on September 3, yesterday it turned out. According to preliminary data, when the militants began to correct one of the small bombs, the adhesive tape, the hellish machine fell to the floor and worked. The explosion was not very strong, but a powerful bomb fixed on the basketball ring was detonated from it. After that, parts of the wall and ceiling hit the building. The hostages rushed into the formed openings, as well as the windows. Not understanding what was happening below, the militants, who were on the second floor of the school and the roof, decided that the assault began and opened fire after the escaping captives.
It seems that there was a split between the terrorists. Those who wanted to survive changed into tracksuits and civilian clothes and rushed from school in the crowd of hostages. Other militants took up defense inside the building. Particularly equipped positions in the basement of the school and the adjacent extension, where in peacetime there was a laboratory.
How many militants were, how many were killed and detained, so far it is impossible to say with accuracy. These figures were constantly changing in statements by representatives of special services. At first it was said about three arrested. However, for sure, probably we can only say about one-24-year-old Nurpash Kulaev, who swore during interrogations that he was forced to take the school and did not shoot at anyone. It is clear that investigators do not believe such words. As for the dead, now it is known about the discovery of 30 corpses of militants representing a real international - Chechens, Ingush, Kazakhs, Slavs, nine Arabs and even one Negro.
Some of the militants have already been identified. In particular, the personalities of some Khanpashi Kulaev, Aslan Merzhoev, Mayrbek Shibikhanov, Magomed Aushev and a certain Umarov (but not Dokur Umarov, a well -known field commander, who are suspected of special services and organized an attack on school) were established.
The most remarkable personality of all identified is Anatoly moves nicknamed Abdullah. He was born in Ukraine, and was registered in the village of Elkhotovo North Ossetia. Back in the late 90s, he graduated from the madrasah in Cherkessk, then joined the Wahhabis and left for Chechnya. At first, he was a simple pot in the detachment of Ruslan Gelaev, and then he himself began to organize large terrorist attacks. In particular, he is suspected of participating in Bluttle on February 1, 2004 cadets of a military school in Vladikavkaz, as well as in the laying of a bomb on May 29, 2004 under a railway track in North Ossetia, on which the Moscow-Vladikavkaz train exploded. Mansions may have participated in the attack on Ingushetia on June 22, 2004.

Irreparable losses
Information about the number of dead and wounded in Beslan yesterday changed literally every hour. According to official data from the operational headquarters, in total, the terrorists at school No. 1, as it now turned out, initially were 1181 people, including about 800 children.
On the evening of Saturday, the operational headquarters included 448 wounded, including 248 children. Representatives of the prosecutor's office of North Ossetia reported 323 dead, 270 of which were identified.
Already on Sunday, in the morning, the head of the information and analytical department under the President of North Ossetia, Lev Dzugaev gave other data-the total number of those killed in the school is 332 people, of which 159 are children. It was said that 12 more people died in hospitals: seven on Saturday, September 4, and five - on Sunday night. The identification of the bodies of the dead is still ongoing.
In the morning of Sunday, a bus went from Beslan to Vladikavkaz with relatives of those hostages who were not on the list of either dead or wounded. People had to find out the fate of loved ones. In the Bureau of the forensic medical examination of Vladikavkaz, we were informed that they had 324 bodies, personalities 207 of which were already established.
At the same time, in the building of the House of Culture, which became a kind of headquarters for relatives of hostages, yesterday until the evening were lists of missing. Parents brought photos of their missing children. There last night they said that the fate of 191 people remained unknown. Among them are seven teachers of school No. 1.
According to the Beslan city department of education, at the time of the attack on the ruler and in the school building there were 59 teachers. All of them were in the hands of terrorists. It is still known that 8 teachers died, 44 were found among the wounded.
There were 41 victims in the district hospital of Beslan himself, including 10 schoolchildren. Among them, according to some reports, two children of the chairman of the parliament of North Ossetia Taimuraz Mansurova are a diet-high-grader and a sinuine-grader. During the battle, the girl was injured in her thigh and chest, the boy was injured in her leg.
In the hospitals of Vladikavkaz yesterday there were a total of about 350 people from among the former hostages. Moreover, from 199 victims hospitalized in the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital, 69 doctors were evaluated as extremely serious.
The doctors of Moscow and Rostov-on-Don began the treatment of another 34 seriously wounded at the weekend. On September 4, the Ministry of Emergencies by the Ministry of Emergencies was delivered to the capital of six guys. The youngest of the suffers from the hands of terrorists to the child is only 1 year and 8 months old. Azamat Mukogolov received a gunshot wound in the stomach, lost a lot of blood. On Saturday, the baby underwent surgery. And yesterday afternoon, 17 more wounded were transported from Beslan to Moscow. All of them are also in very serious condition, most craniocra and explosive injuries, gunshot wounds have.
Another plane with the wounded, according to the head doctor of the All -Russian Center for Disaster Medicine Valery Shabanov, may fly from Beslan to Moscow on Thursday, September 9. Konstantin Filatov, Beslan, Alexander Shvarev, Tatyana Gritsenko, Alexey Grishin |
