Kronprints Denmark and Roger Moore will present the program of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Andersen

Crown Prince Denmark Frederick and his wife and British actor Roger Moore present the program for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Great Danish-School of Hans Christian Andersen in the British library.

“We are very flattered by the fact that representatives of the Danish royal family agreed to present this program with us,” RIA Novosti was told in the Chancellery of the British Library.

The Gans "Hans Christian Andersen-2005" will include a number of events. The central of them will be an exhibition about the life and work of the writer, which will be held from May 20 to October 23 next year. In addition, for 2005, a series of exhibitions of works of art, concerts and educational programs related to Andersen and his fairy tales are planned. The 200-year anniversary of the writer’s birthday itself will be celebrated on April 2, 2005.

On Wednesday, at a presentation in the British library, the actor and public figure, the goodwill ambassador of the UNISEF children's fund Sir Roger Moore will read excerpts from the fairy tale "Princess on the pea." The British writers Antonia Bayatt and Michael Morpurgo will also take part in the ceremony of the program.

The trip to London was the first foreign visit of the Crown Prince Frederick and his wife, Australian Mary Donaldson since their marriage in May of this year. The day before, they took part in the opening of an exhibition of works of art "from ancient art to post -impressionism: the treasures of the new glyptoteum of Carlsberg" at the London Royal Academy of Arts.
