| Oleg Romantsev returns to football once again Today, one of the most famous coaches in Russia, Oleg Romantsev, will begin working with Dynamo Moscow. For now only as a trainer-consultant. After the end of the championship, his status in the club may change.
For now, Romantsev will work at Dynamo unofficially. The contract with him will be signed only on Monday. Until this date, the club's management, as well as the coaching staff, decided to refrain from commenting. It is only known that Romantsev will perform a wide range of duties: from participation in the training process to choosing tactics for the match. And already on Saturday, at the match with Amkar, the coach, whose name has always been associated with the main rival Dynamo, will position himself like a master at the edge of the stadium field in Petrovsky Park.
There have been conversations for a long time that Romantsev could come to Dynamo. Many years of joint work connected him with the current general director of the club, Yuri Zavarzin. When Oleg Ivanovich found himself unemployed after being fired from Spartak, word of mouth immediately got him a job at Dynamo. However, the club management wanted to see a foreign specialist as head coach. When Romantsev once again lost his job, now at Saturn, it was too late to invite him to Dynamo - the team already had a Czech coach, Jaroslav Grzebik.
After Grzebik’s resignation, the Czech’s place was taken by Viktor Bondarenko, who was patiently waiting in the wings. Things still didn't go well for the team. After the 22nd round of the Russian Championship, Dynamo is in 15th place with a real prospect of losing its place in the top echelon of Russian football for the first time in its history. However, despite the long-term relationship between Zavarzin and Romantsev, it is not known from whom the initiative to invite the latter came. The current acting head coach of the team, Viktor Bondarenko, says that it was he who offered to help Romantsev in difficult days for Dynamo.
It’s still difficult to imagine what will happen next. Oleg Romantsev is considered a difficult person, and it is not known whether he will be able to find a common language with the generals in the Dynamo Central Council. But if they can still come to an agreement, the chances that Romantsev will settle in Petrovsky Park for a long time are great. In any case, Viktor Bondarenko is not his competitor here - no matter how the championship ends for Dynamo, he will not be able to get rid of the acting prefix with a promotion. Andrey VDOVIN |
