A phrase from a text by playwright Evgeny Grishkovets about cheating on oneself at the presentation of the main TV award of the year was quoted by the new TEFI laureate Mikhail Kozyrev (“Sky Light”). It is addressed to our colleagues from television. And everything that Grishkovets wanted to say, neither the TV academics nor the viewers heard. He was not invited to the stage. Here is the text given to our newspaper.
When I was born, they brought me to a house where there was already a TV. TV has always been there for me. Television is part of the home and a huge part of life. This is a program cut with scissors from a newspaper, and a movie ... in this program, and the constant expectation of something amazing and interesting ... And longing for the music that accompanied the weather forecast in the Vremya program. This music meant that it was time to sleep, and in the morning to school ...
Then there was the first TV that I bought myself. I earned money for a TV, bought it and brought it to my first small independent apartment. I was proud. I brought my TV to my house. I felt independent and strong. I was young. And there was so much hope on my TV, so many people I trusted, so many events...
True, there was “Swan Lake” and tanks on that TV ... It was all at my place. And in my house, a new television appeared on my TV, which I felt like my own - the horses of Vesti ran there, the NTV ball turned green and much more ... And all this is at my place.
Now my house has become bigger, my children are already in it, and my TV set has become larger and more expensive; and it seems that the horses are running, and the green ball is flying ... But it became embarrassing to turn on the TV. It's not scary, although the murdered children and their killers, blown up planes and houses, and all the horror of recent years ... namely, it's a shame.
Because in my house there weren't so many falsehoods and lies before. I have never invited people into my house who have betrayed themselves so much. I protect my house from betrayal and contempt for myself and my household. But as soon as I turn on the TV, lies enter my house. And if they lie to me, it means that they do not respect me, they disdain me right at my house.
But I won't throw away my TV. I worked and earned money for my TV, and I have it at my house ... And, therefore, everything that happens on your television concerns me greatly, because in the end what happens there happens at my house. And then I, in turn, have to lie to my children.
And I want my home to be good. You see, good! But at the same time, so as not to be ashamed of the fact that I feel good. And it is a shame when they lie, when they are afraid. That's when it's embarrassing. And, therefore, while we lie and are afraid, it will not be good - it will be a shame. You on the one hand, and me on the other, at my house, at my TV.
But I won't turn off the TV. So I'll take a look...
Or rather, let's see.
