The film "driver for faith" by Russian director Pavel Chukhrai did not appear to the competition of the 48th London Film Festival. This was reported by ITAR-TASS by the producer of the picture Igor Tolstunov. Therefore, "the message that the picture is allegedly removed from the filmmaker program does not correspond to reality," he said.

“A few months ago, the organizers of the London Film Festival asked them to provide them with a“ driver for faith ”tape, but at that time we were negotiating about the participation of the picture at the festival in San Sebastian, which, unfortunately, were unsuccessful,” said Tolstunov.

“Now we are trying to agree on the show of the picture at the Berlin Film Festival,” the producer added. The director of the tape Pavel Chukhrai admitted that "he was annoyed by the inaccurate information widespread by the media about the London Film Festival." According to the author of the film, he "would be glad to present his new work to the English viewers."

Earlier it was reported that the film of Russian director Pavel Chukhrai "Driver for Vera" was allegedly shot from the program of the 48th London Film Festival. According to RIA Novosti in the press service of the film festival, the decision is caused by the fact that "the rental copy of the film did not arrive in London for due time."

The film "driver for faith" tells about the life of the family of the Soviet military in the 1960s. The main roles in it were played by Igor Petrenko, Alena Babenko, Bogdan Stupka and Andrei Panin.

The film took part in the 15th Russian Film Festival in Sochi, received the main prize of the Golden Rosa festival, prizes for the best directing and the best script (Pavel Chukhrai), the prize of the Russian producers for the best producer project of the year (Igor Tolstunov, Alexander Rodnyansky).

Russian cinema is presented at the London Film Festival with three other films: Koktebel (2003) Boris Khlebnikov and Alexei Popogrebsky, “Harvest Time” (2004) Marina Razbazhkina and “Own” (2004) Dmitry Meskhieva.

In addition, the festival program includes two foreign films about Russia: the spy drama "Triple Agent" of the French director Eric Romer and the painting by Emmanuel Carrer about the life of the small Russian town "Return to Kotelnich" .

For one of the awards of the London festival - "Suserland Trophy", established by the British film institute - Russian films "Koktebel" and "Harvest time" were nominated. "Koktebel" is also nominated to the prize of the International Federation of Films - Fipers.
