In the center of Moscow, the theater "Near the house of Stanislavsky" was burning

In the center of Moscow on Thursday, a strong fire arose early in the morning. According to the UGPS of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in Moscow, the fire arose at about 4:10 in the house number 9 in Voznesensky Lane. In the building is the theater "Near the house of Stanislavsky."

By the time the firefighters arrived, the three -story building of the old building was entirely covered by a flame. By 7:00 in the morning, the fire managed to eliminate, the Moscow Ministry of Emergencies said in the UGPS.

As the deputy director of the theater Mikhail Betno-Shlyakhta noted, the fire began in the corridor leading to the stage. Betno-Shlyakhta said that on the eve of 18:00 the rehearsal ended, and the director of the theater left the building at 20:30, only the night duty officer remained.

According to the preliminary version, the cause of the fire in the theater building was a careless handling of fire, the metropolitan UGPS said on Thursday. At the time of fire in the theater were two watchmen who managed to leave the building on their own.

The fire area was about 350 square meters, the representative of the Moscow prosecutor’s office told Interfax. He added that "based on the results of the audit (reasons for the fire), a procedural decision will be made." The Presnensky inter -district prosecutor arrived at the place of fire.

The fire was assigned the second category of complexity on a five -point scale, more than 30 fire calculations took part in its extinguishing.

Residents of the house adjacent to the burning building of the theater were evacuated. Despite the efforts of the firefighters, the fire spread to a residential building.

Currently (12:20), fire brigades are still continuing to work. Now, according to the deputy director of the theater, Mikhail Betno-Schlyakhta, firefighters are shed over the ceilings and walls so that there is no repeated fire.

Due to the fire, a small part of the scenery, costumes and props suffered. A large scene and the auditorium burned out. “Now we have a small scene, and we will play on it,” the deputy director noted.

Also, Beatry-Schlyakhta noted that "the government of Moscow will help us in the restoration of the theater." According to him, the theater will not stop showing its performances and, if possible, will play "with its friends" - on the stage of other theaters.

Several permanent spectators of the theater came to the place of the fire, they offered assistance in the analysis of the rubble, Betno-Shlyakhta said. The cause of the fire is now being clarified by firefighters. “But there were no repair work in the theater,” Betno -Schlyakhta noted.
