In Estonia on Thursday, a picket of homeless people will take place in front of the building of the capital's city assembly. According to the non -profit organization MTU Jumalalayegas, which is engaged in servicing Estonia’s overnight houses, the purpose of the action is to attract the attention of the inhabitants of the capital and, above all, its authorities to the problems of rehabilitation and socialization of the homeless.
The picket is dedicated to the beginning of the discussion of the city budget, in which, according to the organizers, there is no proper attention to the problems of this category of people.
“We are amazed at the draft budget, in which there is absolutely no attention to the support of people in the full flourishing of the forces that have fallen into the life of the millstone due to the inability to business, deceit, insufficient knowledge of the language and the like,” said Yanar Varik, a member of the board of MTU Jumalaegas, Interfax reports.
According to him, the reason for the action was the statement of one high -ranking city official, who stated that "homeless people cannot be a priority, since they do not go to the polls."
The inhabitants of the Tallinn overnight stays and customers of the rescue army will take part in the picket.
