Yesterday, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office detained a possible accomplice of Nikolai Kipkeev, who organized a terrorist attack in Moscow near the Rizhskaya metro station in August. Investigators suspected an employee of the bailiff service of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation of aiding the terrorist.

Let us recall that on August 31, 2004, as a result of a suicide bombing near the lobby of the Rizhskaya station, 10 people were killed and more than 30 were injured. The identity of the suicide bomber has not yet been established. However, law enforcement agencies know who directly organized this terrorist attack. This is an active participant in the so-called Karachay jamaat, a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia Nikolai Kipkeev, who was wanted as a close assistant to the organizer of the house bombings in Moscow and Volgodonsk in 1999, Achimez Gochiyaev. The suicide bomber closed the bomb circuit prematurely, and Nikolai Kipkeev, falling into the affected area, himself became a victim of the explosion he had prepared.

The most valuable discovery of the investigation at the scene was the mobile phone of the terrorist Kipkeev. The details of his incoming and outgoing calls made it possible to find out that the mastermind of the terrorist attack was Achimez Gochiyaev. Immediately after the terrorist attack, not knowing that Nikolai Kipkeev had died, he called him to find out about the results of the explosion. Analyzing data on incoming and outgoing calls, the investigation also identified a possible accomplice, Nikolai Kipkeev. He turned out to be an employee of the bailiff service of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation named Shavaev. He is 29 years old, he is a Balkar, a native of the city of Nalchik. Lives in Moscow for about three years. According to the investigation, Nikolai Kipkeev spoke with Mr. Shavaev on the phone more than once and even stayed for a day in his apartment on Architect Vlasov Street. It was in this apartment that he was detained yesterday morning. As Kommersant learned, yesterday Mr. Shavaev denied his acquaintance with Nikolai Kipkeev. And when he was informed about the details of calls from Nikolai Kipkeev’s phone, he, citing Article 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation on the right not to incriminate himself, refused to testify and demanded a lawyer. According to Kommersant's information, yesterday the Moscow Prosecutor's Office already informed the court about the detention of Mr. Shavaev and said that in the near future it would issue a petition for his arrest.
