Novaya Gazeta No. 45 (975) dated June 28, 2004 published an article by G. Rozhnov “IMF loan: someone loses, someone finds, or Why is the former prime minister of Russia so torn in the USA?”, In which it was reprinted letter of five American congressmen to the US Secretary of State, published on one of the authoritative American websites. After the publication of the article, it turned out that the letter in question is a fake, which we have already informed readers about. The “information” contained in the said letter that “five American congressmen are asking Secretary of State Colin Powell to prevent the legalization of Sergei Kiriyenko in the United States”, that “Mr. bought real estate in the Chicago area. By the decision of the Koptevsky Court of Moscow dated October 12, 2004, the specified information was recognized as untrue, discrediting the honor, dignity and business reputation of S.V. Kiriyenko.

The decision of the Koptevsky court established the groundlessness of the articles contained in G. Rozhnov’s articles “Is there a secret agreement between the prosecutors of Russia and Switzerland” (“Novaya Gazeta” No. 65 of November 20, 2000), “Where did the IMF loan of 4.8 billion dollars? He was stolen" ("Novaya Gazeta"

No. 37 of May 27, 2002), “Who robbed us all. By name” (“Novaya Gazeta” No. 80 of October 28, 2002), “The search for an IMF loan is a “second front” (“Novaya Gazeta” No. 80 of October 27, 2003) of allegations that the IMF stabilization tranche in the amount of 4.8 billion US dollars, allocated to Russia in 1998, which is referred to in these publications, “was embezzled”, as well as those contained in G. Rozhnov’s articles “Is there a secret agreement between the prosecutors of Russia and Switzerland” (“Novaya Gazeta”

No. 65 of November 20, 2000), “Suspect No. 1” (“Novaya Gazeta” No. 17 of March 15, 2004), “The Sweetness of the Law” (“Novaya Gazeta” No. 18 of March 18, 2004) allegations of that S.V. Kiriyenko is somehow involved (guilty, suspected) in the theft of the IMF stabilization tranche in the amount of 4.8 billion US dollars allocated to Russia in 1998, which is discussed in these publications.

By decision of the Koptevsky Court of Moscow, the indicated information about the theft of the tranche and the involvement of S.V. Kiriyenko were recognized as untrue, discrediting the honor, dignity and business reputation of S.V. Kiriyenko.
