The yard of the First School in the snow. Finally, at least something covered the gray ash - the damned suspension of the terrorist attack. On the clock - the morning of December 17th.
Another period of patience of the Beslan people is running out, they buried their loved ones and are waiting for the authorities to be able to open their mouths to announce at least a piece of the truth. On November 10, there was a similar rally, but in Vladikavkaz, and there, at the insistence of the people, President Dzasokhov spoke. He issued a specific promise exactly one week after the 10th to answer specific questions: who is personally to blame for such an organization of the assault, how did it turn out on September 3? Did the school have weapons hidden in advance? Who personally led the operational headquarters for the murder of hostages? And why did all the officials lie about the number of unfortunates captured at school, which led to the tragic final brutality of the terrorists, and how did these official officials answer for their lies? ..
And now - December 17th. A month after that same week promised by Dzasokhov. Where is Dzasokhov? They say he "works with documents" in Moscow. And people decided to act.
The grandmother of the deceased beauty Alena Smirnova is crying: “Why live? To see someone off in the morning…” Rita Sedakova, who has lost her daughter, spreads her arms wide, holding a poster in each. The main slogan: "We look forward to meeting with President Putin!".
Further: "Tear off the shoulder straps from General Dzantiev." (Dzantiev is the former head of the North Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs, now in hiding in Moscow, removed after the terrorist attack, but in Beslan they are sure that Dzantiev has strengthened himself in the federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow and feels safe from the victims.)
Also: “Who is responsible for our children?”, “Our children had the right to life!”, “Shame on the power structures of Ossetia!”.
The only positive text: "Thank you," Alpha ". Thank you, Vympel. The women will continue to shout for the entire two hours of the rally: “We have no one else to say thank you to. Only Alfa and Vympel.
A tall, handsome young man is taking the rap for power - Ruslan Daurov, First Deputy Head of the Administration of the Pravoberezhny District (Beslan). People call him Rusik. Rusik himself graduated from the First School, and he cannot be indifferent. But Rusik sincerely strives for positive in the place of the ongoing tragedy: positive is when there is no noise and no journalists. But the crowd is not joking: "If there is no Dzasokhov, we will block the highway."
The more Rusik urges "not to disgrace", the stronger the passions are against. "Dzasokhova! Sikoeva! (Sikoev is the current head of the Republican Interior Ministry and first deputy minister at the time of the attack.)
Finally someone "big" comes. From power appears Vladimir Khodov, whose deputy is Rusik. With Khodov - someone else, gray-haired, imposing. Hodov looks very bad and gloomy. He is between two fires. His grandson died at school. And at the same time, he must somehow cover up the lying power.
“We must wait for the results of the investigation,” says Khodov, and falls silent.
“We can't,” the crowd says. We are unable...
There is no feeling that Hodov is “capable”. In Beslan, there are no spiritual ways left to endure the silence of power, thickly salted with lies. Then Shepel, Deputy Prosecutor General, will say that Dzasokhov personally was the head of the operational headquarters, and, therefore, he is to blame. Then it turns out that Andreev, the former chief republican FSB officer (removed after the terrorist attack), was appointed such head by order ...
The gray-haired one cannot stand it - he takes the floor. He turns out to be a senator, a member of the Federation Council from the Vologda region, Valery Fedorov, and a member of the same Torshin parliamentary commission on Beslan. This time, Senator Fedorov came to Beslan not in connection with the search for the truth, but for the children who were held hostage in order to take them on a charter flight directly to the homeland of the Russian Father Frost - to Veliky Ustyug. But in the courtyard of the First School, those who have no one to send to Veliky Ustyug are now at a rally, and they demand at least some explanation ...
“We held 14 meetings of the commission… We interrogated more than 400 people… We received 654 letters from residents of Beslan and North Ossetia… 859 people turned to us… Every Thursday a press release about the work of the commission is issued… The leaders involved were interrogated — Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov , Minister of Health Zurabov, Nurgaliev, Yakovlev, the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia, Dzantiev, Andreev ...
- What about the president? And Patrushev? These, the main ones, were interrogated?
“We will do everything and find the culprits,” Fedorov continues. - I'm being honest: the parliamentary commission has both the strength and the desire, we'll tell you who is to blame. They will answer...
The women are crying. Rita Sedakova screams: “What hell are we burning in!”. And Fedorov can't stand it, he takes off his well-groomed hat, his gray hair blends with the color of the snow in the school yard. He says about his mother:
“Do you think I dare to lie to you?” I had a mother, she told me: “Do not disgrace me, son!”. And I won't shame her. The truth will be.
And people, exhausted by mourning and many months of bureaucratic bullying, immediately open their hearts to meet a person. “We believe you,” sounds over the crowd. They come to a compromise: the government gets a delay for a week. If these unfortunate affected people do not hear at least part of the truth by the New Year, the federal highway will be blocked.
Beslan is on the verge - this must be understood. The authorities will not be able to lie anymore - this is clear. Actions of civil disobedience look inevitable. Only extraordinary actions can postpone them for a while, such as the senator's story about his mother, in front of whose memory he is unable to lie ...
The end of that day in Beslan was worse than the beginning. Olympians, the country's great athletes, came to the city with gifts and promises. The Olympians were divided into schools. I was waiting for them in the Sixth, on the second floor, where the surviving children of the First School now study. At first, the children were ordered to prepare for the meeting with the athletes, putting them in one large class. So two hours passed in room No. 22. The children looked exhausted and lost. The teachers were nervous: well, how long can you wait? Frightened parents began to approach: why were the children delayed?
Finally, a call came from the authorities from education and an order was received to relocate all the children to the gym, it seems that it is more convenient for the Olympians to perform in the gym, and in order to quickly, the Olympians rush to the plane ...
