On the eve of the next meeting of the Committee-2008, information appeared in the media about the split in the organization and even that the Committee itself could fall apart due to internal disagreements. As soon as the editors of the “Daily Journal”, which has three people in the “Committee-2008”, has already begun to tell what is happening in this organization from the inside, I will continue this business.

To say that all members of the Committee-2008, who came to the meeting on Tuesday evening, were absolutely sure that they would disappear after it, remaining members of the current organization, would be a stretch. In this ornate phrase, I, in fact, wanted to say that the committee has different views on the tactics and strategy of the consolidation of the democrats. On some issues - irreconcilably different. Is the load of disagreement the reason for the organization to fall apart? As I already wrote in

Another thing is that one of the proclaimed goals is to unite the two most famous liberal parties, ATP and Yabloko - and remained unpleasant. If earlier, most of the participants in the process believed that such an association was impossible, now, after a year of intense and nervous work, everyone is sure that such a unification is impossible in principle. This understanding is an important result that allows you to avoid hard, but meaningless work. We need other forms, ideas and principles of unification of democrats, which, in fact, were discussed on Tuesday. If it is impossible to combine the ATP and the “Yabloko”, it means that you need to create a new democratic party. And here, too, there are two strategies: either use the legal and organizational framework of one of the irreconcilable parties, or build an organization from scratch. Each of these strategies in the committee has its own supporters. But it would be strange if the members of the committee,

Which are well known, they would think in chorus. The fact that members of the committee agree with the need to create a new party remains fundamental.

Moreover, the irreconcilable democratic parties themselves are also not averse to taking part in new construction. And to such an extent that Grigory Yavlinsky came to the meeting on Tuesday - despite the fact that the committee discussed the possibility of party life without Yavlinsky as a leader of Yabloko. And without an “apple” as a party with that name. The absence at this key meeting Anatoly Chubais, who was invited to him, only confirmed: the ATP and Yabloko cannot do anything together, at least with the current leaders.

And no matter how much they argue in the committee on various points of the agenda, there is something fundamentally important, which are one of the supporters of different approaches: we are fighting for the constitutional change of Putin's regime.
