Georgian excavator, digging a ditch, chopped off the connection between Europe and Asia

On Thursday, the Georgian excavator, without knowing it, proved the fragility of the connection between Europe and Asia. In Western Georgia, 53 kilometers from the city of Poti, a local resident, laying the ditch with an excavator, damaged the international optical-folly cable.

The excavator was detained by law enforcement agencies. The case reached the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia as Interfax was told in the Republican Ministry of the Interior, 34 large international operators from Europe and Asia use the optical-fiber cable.

A criminal case has been instituted on this fact. The detained excavator does not admit himself guilty of undermining international ties. He claims that he had no idea about a strategically important cable laid down in the ground.
