The Moscow stage of the DTM racing series is canceled

The stage of the popular European racing series DTM, which for the first time in its history was to take place in Moscow on June 26, 2005, was postponed to the next year. As reported on the official website of the series , such a decision was made at the request of the President of the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) Viktor Kiryanov, who motivated it with security considerations.

Obviously, one of the main problems was the lack of a racing route that would comply with the security standards of the International Federation of Motorsport (FIA) . Instead of Moscow, a race in Czech Brno was added to the DTM calendar for 2005, numbering 11 stages, RIA Novosti reports.

DTM body races are held on Mercedes, Audi and Opel cars. Among the pilots who will take part in the 2005 championship, such famous racers as Finn Mika Hakkinen, German Hinz-Harald Frentzen, Frenchman Jean Alazi, Briton Allan Maknish, well-known to Formula-1 fans.
