According to preliminary data from the traffic police, the actor’s car was moving at a very high speed; at one of the turns in the snow, the Volkswagen spun and he crashed into a pole. After a terrible blow, both men found themselves unconscious on a deserted road. But a few minutes later, the mangled foreign car was noticed by an ambulance crew passing by.
When Nikolai Karachentsov was taken to City Hospital No. 31, he was in a coma. After examination, doctors recorded a fracture of the cranial vault, a traumatic brain injury, an internal cranial hematoma and blunt trauma to the abdomen. A neurosurgical team led by the chief neurosurgeon of Moscow, Vladimir Krylov, was immediately called to the scene and decided to perform an immediate operation.
