Russia and India intensify a joint fight against money laundering and corruption

Russia and India intend to intensify cooperation in the fight against laundering "dirty" money and corruption. This decision was made at a meeting of the chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Sergey Stepashin and the chairman of the Council of the States (Upper House of Parliament) of India Bhairon Singha Shekkhavat.

RIA Novosti , citing the press service of the Accounts Chamber, reports that during the meeting it was emphasized: the cooperation of financial and control bodies will become an important part of bilateral relations.

The parties agreed "on the support of the intentions of the highest bodies of state financial control of Russia and India to intensify cooperation in the fight against laundering" dirty "money and corruption."

"The establishment of closer interaction between the highest financial control bodies of Russia and India will help expand business ties between both countries and a further growth of economic cooperation, the volume of which does not yet correspond to the existing potential," the Russian joint venture concludes.
