A hurricane is approaching the Kuril Islands

Hurricane winds and strong precipitation will cause a cyclone on the Kuril archipelago, approaching the islands from the Sea of ​​Japan.

As Interfax was told in the Sakhalin Territorial Directorate for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, shifting to the Pacific Ocean over the Sansa Strait, separating the Japanese islands of Hokkaido and Honsyu, the element will fall into the southern smokers in the next day.

On Saturday afternoon, storm winds are expected here with wind speeds up to 25-30 m/s and abundant precipitation, with snow - strong snowstorms. On Sunday, the speed of gusts of wind can reach hurricane values ​​- up to 35 m/s.

In most areas of Sakhalin, small snowfalls and a weak snowstorm will take place. However, in the south and east of the islands, more intense snowfalls and snowstorms are predicted with winds up to 23 m/s.

According to weather forecasters, the cyclone will shift along the Kuril ridge and cover all its areas, and then go to Kamchatka.

Hydrometeorological center specialists prepare a storm warning that will be widespread in the afternoon of Friday, noted in management.
