Rivers demands to initiate criminal cases against the "Orthodox Rus'" and authors of a letter about the verification of Jewish organizations

The Russian Jewish Congress (rivers) demanded to initiate criminal cases against the newspaper "Orthodox Rus" and those who subscribed under a recent letter to the Prosecutor General's Office demanding to check the activities of Jewish organizations.

As the Interfax agency was informed today in the press service of the Congress, official appeals to state authorities, including the Moscow and the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Moscow and St. Petersburg, sent rivers today.

The appeal indicates the three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which, according to the authors of the document, should be instituted by a criminal case: Article 136 (violation of the equality of human and freedom of the person and citizen), Article 280 (public calls for extremist activity), and Article 282 (excitement of hatred or enmity, as well as a humiliation of human dignity ... according to the characteristics of sex, race, nationality, language, origin, attitude to relations to Religions ... committed publicly or using the media).

Article 5.26 (violation of the legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations) of the Code of Administrative Offenses is also mentioned.

In addition, today the Russian Jewish Congress sent letters to the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, to the Union of Journalists and the Federal Service for Supervision of Compliance with the Legislation in the field of mass communications and the protection of cultural heritage with a request to give a qualified assessment of the leadership and editorial office of the newspaper "Orthodox Rus".
