The Court of North Ossetia sentenced one of the organizers of the terrorist attack in Mozdok in 2003 to life imprisonment

The Supreme Court of North Ossetia issued a verdict in relation to persons involved in undermining the bus with military personnel in Mozdok in June 2003.

One of the organizers of this attack - Rustam Ganiev - was sentenced to life imprisonment. Magomed Kodzoev received 25 years in prison (but will spend seven years in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony), and Iliev and Arkady Arakhov received 11.5 years.

On the morning of June 5, 2003, in Mozdok at the bus stop with military personnel, a suicide bomber, on which there was an explosive belt, tried to enter the bus, transporting staff of the Mozgok military airfield. The woman was not allowed on the bus, and she led a home -made explosive device.

As a result of the attack, 19 people died and 24 were injured of varying severity.

The court granted the claims of the victims of the victims of the victims of compensation for moral and material damage. The total amount that the convicts of Ganiev and Kodzoev should be paid is 15 million rubles.

The lawsuit of the military unit on the payment of 193 thousand rubles was also satisfied due to the fact that the blown up bus is not subject to restoration.

29-year-old resident of Nazran Magomed Kodzoev, 28-year-old resident of the suburban district of North Ossetia, previously convicted Issa Iliev, 28-year-old resident of Nalchik Arkady Arakhov and 25-year-old native of the village of Assinovskaya (Chechen Republic) Rustam Ganiev were accused under the eight articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including Article 209 part 2 (Banditism), Article 317 ("Acting for the life of a law enforcement officer"), Article 30 Part 3 ("Preparation for a crime and attempted crime"), Article 205 Part 3 ("Terrorism"), Article 105 ("Murder"), Article 208 Part 2 ("Participation in illegal armed formation).

According to the materials represented by the state prosecutor Maria Semysynova, in April 2003, Kodzoev invited Ganiev to find in Mozdok a place of large accumulation of representatives of the power structures participating in the counter -terrorist operation. In May, the acquaintances of Kodzoev - Iliev and Arakhov entered the indicated gang, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the materials of the prosecution, it was Ganiev who found and attracted Lydia Khaldykhoroev for the attack.

During the court hearings, Arakhov also pleaded guilty that he, together with the defendant in this case, Iliev at the expense of Shamil Basayev, bought two houses in Kabardino-Balkaria in Kabardino-Balkaria, which were intended to relax and treat participants in illegal armed groups.

According to Arakhov, in August 2003, in one of these houses, he covered Basayev with his wife and two guards. According to the accused, Basayev lived in this house for two weeks. After the police officers in August last year during the special operation surrounded the house, Basayev managed to hide through the gardens.

The defendants in the last word provided by him pleaded guilty only partially.
