The Executive Director of the London Football Club "Chelsea" Peter Kenion extended the application in response to the statements of representatives of the European Union of Football Associations related to the confrontation of the Champions League against Barcelona in the 1/8 finals of the Barcelona League.
The statement widespread by the press service of the club reads:
Chelsea is simultaneously surprised and saddened that a single man without control of UEFA began an unprecedented attack on the club. Not considered the fact that Chelsea fully collaborated on all requests related to accusations against us.
Chelsea fully supports and respects all the processes that occur inside UEFA and does not feel illusions about the seriousness of these accusations. We will defend ourselves in the correct and legal form in accordance with the norms of UEFA.
Nevertheless, the charges against Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, Steve Clark and the Miles forest, one of UEFA officials, means that Chelsea is no longer able to adhere to the plan that we chose after we sent the report to UEFA for the first match with Barcelona.
After various statements that publicly affected the decency of our coach, his assistant, security officer and club, we cannot leave these statements unattended.
Chelsea completely refutes the allegations that the club or one of his representatives participated in deliberate provocations, giving false information in order to cynically affect the result of games against Barcelona, in order to influence the judges of the match or hesitate relations between the teams. All this is honestly indicated in our statements by UEFA.
Unfortunately, some inside UEFA decided to ignore the reputation of our organization in relation to an honest and correct game, taking the debate to the Public Court before any hearings on this case. First of all, it is these hearings that are intended for debate on these issues.
These personalities deliberately used incitement as a method, which, as Chelsea believes, is not true and will not provide any help in this matter. The use of such methods, especially given their publicity, bothers us, we begin to doubt our chances of getting an impartial and honest hearing of our business.
Our defense was destroyed even before they began to discuss. The evidence was declared a lie without a single chance to be heard or to be able to protect yourself. This violates the legislation both in England and in Europe.
If the decision on this issue was made in advance, we will have no choice, but we will try to find alternative and legal ways to restore justice, including filing a lawsuit in a sports arbitration court, which does not allow individual representatives of official organizations to create a biased opinion, thus influencing legal decisions.
There have always been a good relationship between UEFA and Chelsea. Last week, we condemned threats to Anders Frisk and agreed to develop further respect in football. And Chelsea will definitely support this.
Now, until the official decision on this case is announced, Chelsea will not make any statements. "
Recall that UEFA will begin to consider a disciplinary investigation into the behavior of the head coach Chelsea Jose Mourinho, as well as his assistant to Steve Clark and the Security Officer of the English Club Miles during the match with Barcelona.
The aforementioned representatives of Chelsea were accused of allowing “false statements”. The discontent of the UEFA leadership, in particular, caused a statement by Mourinho that he had seen the mentor of Barcelona Frank Raicarda entering the judges during a break between the halves. This later led to the resignation of the Swedish referee Anders Frisk, who made such a decision due to numerous threats of his life and health received by fans of the English club.
