
At the Urga military training ground, during the flight-tactical teachings of the helicopter squadron, a helicopter collided with a fuel supplyer. As a result of the accident, three crew members were injured on board, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel Vyacheslav Sedov, said.
According to the General Staff of the Air Force of the Russian Federation, the helicopter was piloted by the 1st class pilot Lieutenant Colonel Voronov, deputy commander of the flight training regiment. He is seriously wounded, two other crew members were injured. All of them are hospitalized.
"The incident occurred today at 8:20 Moscow time during the flight-tactical teachings of the helicopter squadron in the area of the Yurga training ground (80 km northwest of Kemerovo). After the crew of combat firing, the helicopter was landing for refueling. At that moment, it was a collision with the fuel supply," the fuel supply, "explained. The cause of the accident of a military helicopter could be a pilot error. This was reported to RIA Novosti in the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Kemerovo region.
"According to preliminary data, the helicopter accident occurred due to an error in piloting," the Ministry of Emergencies noted. The press service also reported that three pilots are in the hospital, doctors have no fears for their lives.
The emergency helicopter of the fire support of the Mi-24P of a separate helicopter regiment from the 14th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense, whose headquarters is deployed in the city of Bertz in the Novosibirsk Region (Siberian Military District), is not subject to restoration. To investigate the incident, a commission of the Ministry of Defense was created.
