OSCE asks Akayev to resign

The OSCE wants the overthrown president of Kyrgyzstan to Askar Akayev officially resigned. This should facilitate the situation in the country that remains sufficiently stressful, reports RBC with reference to AP.

Representatives of the two former Soviet republics, Ukraine and Georgia, in which the opposition of Kyrgyzstan inspired, proposed their assistance in resolving the situation. According to the temporary authorities of Kyrgyzstan, they announced the creation of a special commission, which will ensure the transition to a new legal authority.

The new authorities of the Central Asian Republic believe that the official refusal of Akayev, which is now in Russia, will help restore the legality and functioning of the authorities from the post of president.

In his interviews, which Akayev gave in Moscow, he stated that he was ready to return to Kyrgyzstan and officially relieve himself of his powers if he was ensured by parliament.
