Students will increase scholarships from April 1

The State Duma assures that the scholarships will be increased from April 1, RIA Novosti reports.

“Despite the fact that the bill will be adopted after April 1, all the recalculations of the scholarships will be made from this day, and the students will receive the cash payments due to them on time and in full,” said Margarita Barzhanova, member of the Duma Committee on Veterans Affairs.

From April 1, scholarships should be increased by one hundred rubles, another increase in scholarships, also by one hundred rubles, is expected from September 1, 2005.

However, the government has not yet prepared bills on raising scholarships from April 1 for students and cadets of military schools.

“Despite all the assurances that the documents will go to the State Duma in the near future, they are still not entered into the ward,” Barzhanova said, calling the government “sluggish”.
