Chernomyrdin invited Interpol to understand the possible arrival of Berezovsky to Ukraine

The Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin believes that the possible arrival of entrepreneur Boris Berezovsky to Ukraine should get into the field of view of Interpol. “Interpol must say if there is an interpol item,” Chernomyrdin said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.

“There, probably, there is enough mind to figure out who Berezovsky is. Generally strange. A criminal case has been instituted against him, he is in the field of view of Interpol,” Chernomyrdin said.

He expressed the opinion that the Ukrainian authorities are unlikely to allow Berezovsky to come and live in this country, Interfax reports.

"I can’t say anything about Berezovsky - is there a lot of attention, here and there. What was the halo of such a halo around him, what is it connected with?" the Russian ambassador asked.

“We know Berezovsky here very well. Talent, knows how to create ourselves afloat, so that he is always seen, heard, I also have a personality,” said Chernomyrdin.

“How did he distinguish this way? What merits did he have so that the dances are arranged around him? Where does he live, let him live there,” the ambassador said.

The head of the Civil Freedom Fund (the founder of which is the businessman Boris Berezovsky) Alexander Goldfarb, historian Yuri Felstinsky and ex-colonel of the FSB of the Russian Federation Alexander Litvinenko received summons from the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine with an invitation to appear for interrogation as witnesses in the case of the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze . This was announced on Friday by Goldfarb by the online publication "Ukrainian Pravda" .

According to Goldfarb, the summons came by fax and signed by Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin. The Prosecutor General’s Office of all of the above persons is asked to appear for testimony on Monday, April 11.

"Each of us is asked to" provide for involvement of the CDs that we have, and other media with Leonid Kuchma’s conversations, all the printouts, as well as documentation on the history of our relations with Melnichenko (ex-Mayor Goshramna, who recorded conversations in Kuchma’s office), "Goldfarb noted.

"The summons also indicate that in order to ensure security, we are recommended to report the time of arrival in Kyiv in the Prosecutor General," he added. According to Goldfarb, all three are ready to testify, because "they consider it their duty to promote the investigation."

At the same time, Goldfarb expressed doubts about whether Felhtinsky and Litvinenko would be able to arrive in Kyiv so quickly. "Now is already Friday, and I'm not sure that they can arrive in Kyiv so quickly, especially Litvinenko, for whom safety issues are especially acute. Tomorrow it will be found out. As for me, I will try to come on Monday, a maximum of Tuesday," he said.

Goldfarb also said that he was invited by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to arrive in Kyiv to assist the investigation of the Gongadze case.
