North Korea closely watched the war in Iraq, indicates Joseph Bermodez, the author of several books about the military capabilities of North Korea.

According to sources in the American government and according to the testimonies of the North Korean defectors, in March 2004, Kim Jong Il gave a lecture on the American psychological war.
