Freud Museum may close

The Museum of Sigmund Freud in Vienna can be closed, RIA-News reports.

Closing is due to the fact that the museum needs repairs, the funds for which the Austrian government has not yet allocated. The director of the Museum Inge Sholz-Strasser shared anxiety with the press. In 2006, the 150th anniversary of Freud’s birthday will be celebrated around the world, and until that time the museum should have been repaired, says Scholz-Strasser.

"The government has not yet decided to allocate 2.1 million euros for the repair and restoration of the required, and meanwhile the museum-apartment gradually comes to the deplorable state."

The museum is located in the apartment of the great psychoanalyst and the medicine medicine Freud on Vienna Street Berggasse and is one of the most popular Austrian museums, which last year visited more than 55 thousand people. This year, this number can increase to 70 thousand.
