Estonia's guest will show the parade on May 9 on Red Square on the air

Estonian television will be broadcast on May 9 from Red Square a parade in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory over Hitler Germany, said the director of state television programs, ETV Ainar Rawsaar.

"We plan to show the parade live on the networks of the European Union of Translations (EBU). True, so far there is still no one hundred percent confidence in the show, since EBU is still negotiating with the Russians," Rouusaar said.

“He will be conducted by the foreign policy commentator by Peetra Kaldre, who will help two experts: on military and political issues. After all, the audience will be interested in knowing which equipment will pass through Red Square,” said Ainar Ruusaar.

He noted that Victory Day in Estonia is perceived ambiguously, reports Interfax.

“However, if this day is widely celebrated in Europe, then it doesn’t matter to us how certain historians can perceive it,” Ruusar said.

According to him, ETS did not receive any complaints or instructions from the state bodies in connection with television plans.

“We are independent television and have the right to show everything that does not contradict the laws, does not incite racial, political and other discord,” Ruusar said.

Earlier, Estonia President Arnold Ruytel refused to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day, citing the fact that for Estonia on May 9 is associated with Soviet occupation.
