Two villages in North Ossetia are isolated by water elements, Interfax was informed in the EMERCOM of North Ossetia. On Sunday, the Sadon and Galon rivers, overflowing due to heavy rains, came out of the shores, as a result of which a bridge was demolished, leading to the village of Upper Zgid and Sadon. Thus, more than 200 residents of these mountain villages were isolated.
As the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the North Caucasus Nikolai Pesyakov told the Interfax agency, "we received a message about the raging elements at 14:00 Moscow time and immediately left the operational brigades of repairmen."
“The main task now is not only to restore transport links with mountain villages, but also to prevent the blow of the water element along the Transcavkasian highway, which is located below the spilled rivers,” said Pesyakov.
According to the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the North Caucasus, additional road workers are urgently transferred to the scene of the incident along with heavy equipment.
