The emblem is a man “collected” of five stones of “Olympic” flowers. As the committee said, green and blue colors symbolize coastal forests, mountain spurs and islands, red - a maple leaf depicted on the national flag, and the golden - the suns of the sun.

The head of the organizing committee, John Furlong, noted that the “Ilanaak” is primarily a team player. ”Each stone relies on another to keep the entire structure. All this symbolizes the strength, aspiration and cohesion that leads us in the direction of perfection and invite the whole world to Canada in 2010,” Gazeta.ru reports

The emblem of the 2010 Olympics was selected from 1600 projects. It was created by the designer company Rivera Design Group, which received a prize of $ 25 thousand and two tickets for the opening of the Olympics. The organizing committee added that the emblem of the Paralympic Games will be approved later.
