The Board of Judicial power of Spain, as well as the Association of Lawyers, said that judges are obliged to fulfill laws, and if conscience does not allow them to abandon the judicial career.

The Associations of Gays and Lesbians of Spain turned to the government demanding that the protest of the Vatican. Their joint statement says that "it is unacceptable that a senior representative of a foreign state dare to call for Spanish employees to non -compliance with the law."
