Repeated doping test Svetlana Kuznetsova gave a positive result

An additional doping test of the Russian tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova, who was carried out at the request of the athlete herself, also gave a positive result. This was stated by the leadership of the Ministry of Sports of the Government of the French Community of Belgium, reports ITAR-TASS.

Kuznetsova’s doping test, taken on December 19, 2004 during a demonstration tournament in the Belgian Charlerua, revealed traces of Ephedrine. However, the leadership of the female tennis association stated that Ephedrine is not among the drugs prohibited for use in extravaled events, which were a demonstrative tournament in Charlerua. Thus, Kuznetsova continued the performances in the WTA tour competitions.

Kuznetsova requested an additional examination, and in Charlerua, where the tournament was held, as the Minister of Sports of the Government of the French Community of Belgium Claude Erdecens explained.

“We sent a frozen capsule to this city,” said Erdecens, “however, it was transferred back to Gent, since according to the rules of the World Anti -Doping Agency, both tests should take place in the same place. As a result of this procedure, during which the doctor from the Russian Tennis Federation was found, traces of Ephedrine were found even in larger than the first time.”
