The RFU Executive Committee approved the appointment of Yuri Semin

The Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) on Tuesday at a meeting, which was held in Moscow in the Luzhnikov large sports arena, approved Yuri Semin as the head coach of the Russian national football team.

In fact, Semin stood at the helm of the national team on April 19, when the Bureau of the Executive Committee of the RFU recommended him to this position. At the executive committee, RFU President Vitaly Mutko proposed to Yuri Semin’s candidacy, and she was approved without voting, RIA Novosti reports.

Semin’s contract with the national team can be extended for one year - in case of successful performance by the Russian national team in the qualifying tournament of the 2006 World Cup.

Yuri Semin called the composition of the coaching staff of the national team. The new coaching staff included almost all those people who worked in the national team before. The assistants of the head coach in the national team were the mentor of the Yaroslavl Shinnik Oleg Dolmatov, as well as Boris Ignatiev. Zurab Ordzhonikidze was prescribed by the national team, and Andrei Kiryakov, the team manager.

At the same time, Semin noted that while there were no divisions of duties in the coaching staff. “The main thing for us is that we are in the team, and this team is a single organism,” the coach concluded.

At the very beginning of the meeting of the Executive Committee of the RFU, Semin said that he sincerely wanted to combine work in the national team and in the Moscow Lokomotiv.

“I made the decision to lead the team voluntarily. It was very difficult for me to be given to me, and I sincerely wanted to combine two posts. But the situation was different, and I will only work in the national team,” Semin said.

He also noted that he is very interesting to work in the Russian team. “This work is very interesting for me. It would be interesting to fall for the World Cup,” the new team mentor confirmed.

"For a coach who headed the national team, this is a certain peak in his career. I will try to take this chance," Semin said.

At the same time, the specialist noted that very little time remains before the first game, and he called the emphasis on tactics the main accent of his work. "We are inferior in speed to many teams, but we will try to convey to the consciousness of the players that we should play faster," Semin said.

Semin called this composition a "draft list" and noted that the composition of the team will finally be formed later and will depend on the game of the players themselves.

The preparatory collection will begin in the Bor near Moscow on May 30. Yuri Semin intends to create a comprehensive scientific group (KNG) to study Russian football players. According to him, this is a very effective system.

“Representatives of this group will work at almost every match of the Russian championship, even during a break,” Semin said. “They will study how much the player ran for the match, at what speed. Clubs such as Milan and Real, use this. This is an objective assessment of football players.”

Proposed to change the system of payment of premium

Semin also expressed the opinion that the premium payment system in the national team should be changed.

"Players must receive money for each specific match, for calls to the national team," said the new mentor of the Russian national team.

He noted that such a premium system exists, for example, in the Czech team. And with a proposal to change the remuneration system, Semin turned to members of the RFU Executive Committee.
