Sheremetyevo airport has been presented for tax claims for 2001 for $ 10 million, Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, said at a briefing in Moscow.
According to Vedomosti , the claims of the tax authorities were caused by the fact that Sheremetyevo took into account the costs of the airfield, the objects of which belong to the state. Since 1994, in Russia, the privatization of such assets (for example, runways) has been prohibited. But the airfields needed investments. Therefore, since the late 1990s they have been used by airport operators and they were spent on the maintenance of the airfield. Sheremetyevo still does not have documents for the use of the airport infrastructure, which recently recalled the Accounts Chamber. But, as the tax authorities indicated, in 2001, Sheremetyevo issued the costs of maintaining the runways, unlawfully reducing the tax base.
Sheremetyevo reports for 2001 the tax authorities checked at the end of last year, and claims to the airport were revised three times. At the beginning of the year, it amounted to about $ 20 million, but after the objections of Sheremetyevo, it was first reduced to 18.5 million, and then to 10 million.
According to Interfax, announcing the claims, the Minister of Transport Levitin said that similar claims can be made to any Russian airport. "This is not a new question, the regulatory framework and property relations in Russian airports are not regulated."
To correct the situation, Levitin proposed promptly accepting the amendments already prepared by his department, "otherwise we will expose our airports." “The state must be consistent, the fault is that the property of the state at the airports is not on the balance of the state,” Levitin explained.
The minister also emphasized that Sheremetyevo will dispute tax claims within the framework of the law. “Everything should be decided in court,” the official said.
Now the total amount of tax claims to Sheremetyevo is 263 million rubles: 159.1 million of donated taxes and 103.9 million interest. These figures "Sheremetyevo" indicated in the lawsuit against the tax authorities. The lawsuit was filed on April 19, and the very next day, the tax authorities were banned as an interim measure indisputably to arrest the airport’s accounts and write off the amount of claims from them. A preliminary hearing will be held on May 6.
